Children's Ministry

Children's Ministry

People involved
The ministry is co-ordinated and led by Lee Baylis, a mother of three who is passionate about children and their spiritual journeys. Nikki Seiler works with Lee with specific emphasis on schools. The ministry is under the Next Generation pastoral care of Doug Fell. Holly McKibbin provides administrative support. There are gift-based opportunities for the many volunteers who give of their time and talents both on Sundays and during the week.

Sundays

Kids' Bible School
Kids’ Bible School runs at 08:00 and 10:00 for the duration of the services in the XChange Centre.
The 4-term school calendar is followed and activities are organised during the holidays. The children follow age-appropriate programmes that are Bible-based and include practical teaching and life application. There is also exposure to missions, outreach and social projects. Age 2 to 5-year olds follow material from ”A Class Above” and the “Tiddlywinks” series; Grades 0 to 5 have combined worship first followed by classes, where an adapted “Promiseland” curriculum is followed; and Grades 6 and 7 use material from “On the Way” and the “Normal Christian Life” series.

Music is an integral part of all classes.
Being a family-orientated church, parents are encouraged to be involved in their child's spiritual journey. The children go into the sanctuary once a month during the worship time as part of integration into the church.

Cry Room
There is a cry room upstairs for parents of babies from birth to a year. This has one-way glass and speakers to encourage service participation while looking after your baby. There is also a breastfeeding room available.

Crèche
The crèche downstairs is for toddlers aged 1 to 2 years. Speakers enable you to hear the service while in the crèche. The little ones are cared for by a roster of volunteers at both morning services.

All of our Children's groups meet in the XChange Centre
