A Challenge
Christians are encouraged to support the work of the local church of which they are a part, and the wider work of the kingdom of God. The latter may be done through the local church and its social concern and missions outreach programmes.
Accountability and Transparency
Rosebank Union Church seeks to practice good stewardship of the finances God makes available to us. Our annual financial reports are audited by an external firm appointed by the congregation and are available in our Annual report or by request through the church office.
In General
- At present approximately 25% of Income is used to support our missionaries.
- Now that our church building is paid for, money designated for the Building Fund will go toward our Centenary Children’s & Youth Centre Project
- Following each communion service (first Sunday of the month in the morning, and third Sunday of the month in the evening) a retiring offering is received for the Care Fund. This fund provides help to members of the RUC family who are in need and is administered by the Pastors.
- Once a year (usually in October) a special Thank Offering is received. This is usually for some special project within or outside RUC. Special Thank Offering envelopes are distributed for this purpose.
- The Christmas Day Offering is usually designated for some ministry or need outside RUC.
- From time to time there may be special appeals for crisis situations (e.g. the tsunami, Haiti earthquake etc).
- When any kind of special appeal is made members are urged to give over and above their regular giving to the church.
