It is with great excitement that the Tamlins joined the RUC family in January 2011. On 23 January Justin was officially inducted into ministry as our Pastor of Worship and Arts.

We are the Tamlin Family!

Justin was born in Cape Town and attended Wynberg Boys' School. He studied theology at the Bible Institute and Baptist College and began his first pastorate in Howick, KwaZulu Natal where he ministered for five years. We were married in 1997 and enjoyed a fruitful ministry, particularly in the area of youth work. In 2001 we moved to Johannesburg and commenced 10 years of ministry at Honeyridge Baptist Church. Throughout his years Justin has had a passion for God, people, music and ministry. When Justin is not doing ministry he enjoys photography, reading and discovering new and interesting things. He has a few strange eccentricities (Liesl's opinion) like a collection of 5000 Disney figurines and having memorized the location of all the countries in the world, their capitals and flags!

Liesl is a busy mom and teacher. She has worked at Humpty Dumpty Preschool for the last eight years and finds working with children and parents a real joy. Liesl also grew up in Cape Town and studied at the Cape Town College of Education. She enjoys cooking, laughing with friends and pampering her two Yorkshire terriers.

Amber was born 25 days after moving to Johannesburg in 2001. In 2011 she will be heading into a busy Grade 4 year. She is a level-headed, deep thinker who loves asking difficult questions, reading books, swimming, playing tennis and socializing with her friends.

Summer starts grade 2 in 2011. She is a sensitive, free-spirit who loves music, singing, dancing and has a heart for animals. She shares her dad's crazy sense of humour and they are often up to mischief.

We are deeply honoured to come and serve among you as we combine two of our loves: a passion for ministry and a passion for music. Our longing is to see people from all walks of life set ablaze in worshipping our great God. Worship is about our devotion to Christ and people 24/7. We want to see the bar raised in our love and devotion to Him and His cause! Pray for us as we settle in and get to know you as a family. May we spur one another on to do great things for God!
